Webcast presentation: 11AM GMT/12:00PM CET October 5, 2016

Welcome

I am delighted to invite you to this webinar on the Relevance of Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) for the management of patients with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). This one hour event will be filmed in London and cast live on this website on 5th October at 11:00AM GMT/12:00PM CET.
My objective is to give you the opportunity to increase your understanding of how a patient-centric approach to measuring outcomes may lead to improved care in patients with IBD. This webinar will address the current gaps in understanding and knowledge relating to the use of PROs and will give all delegates the opportunity to meet the stated learning objectives. Using online polling and a question forum, delegates will be able to interact with the session and provoke discussion on this important topic.
Please register your place at the webinar by filling in the registration form. I look forward to welcoming you on the 5th of October.

Learning objectives

The aim of this webinar is to address the identified gaps in knowledge and understanding of the relevance of PROs (Patient Reported Outcomes) in the management of patients with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). Research shows that enhanced treatment adherence and outcomes can be obtained to giving more attention to patient feedback on their healthcare. However, evidence suggests that there are many barriers (for example social, cultural, legal, technical and logistical), which hinder the implementation of PROs in the clinical setting [Nelson C. et al. 2015, Santana MJ, Feeny D. 2014].

At the end of this interactive webinar, delegates will be able to:
  1. recognise the benefits of, and the need for, patient-centric healthcare
  2. appreciate the relevance of PROs in the management of patients with long-term IBD
  3. identify which PROMS (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) will be most useful in the management of patients with IBD
  4. understand how the systematic use of information from PROMs leads to better communication and decision making between doctors and patients and improves patient satisfaction with care and self-management in patients with IBD
Intended audience
Gastroenterologists, Internists and GPs with a special interest in managing IBD patients, IBD surgeons, GI paediatricians
